DAY 3: WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

What are you waiting for?

I don’t know about you, but now and then I need to stop and ask myself:

“What are you waiting for?”

Why do you…

  • Spin the story of your most recent book…yet never quite finish it?
  • Crack jokes with friends and family…that never quite make it into your act?
  • Brainstorm a zillion creative ideas…that end up dying on the drawing board?

Granted, I’ve finished a few biggish projects in my time, yet more often than I’d like to admit, I still find myself basically…waiting.

And to tell you the truth, I don’t always know why.

HOW ABOUT YOU?

  • What’s the dream or vision burning in your heart? Has it stalled out somewhere in the process?
  • Do you find yourself held back by invisible mental barriers? Or waiting for something or someone to give you a nudge?
  • What would it take to get you back on track again?

Is there…

  • Something you’re afraid of?
  • Nurturing or affirmation you’re missing?
  • A belief or half-truth that has you paralyzed?

Whatever it is, I encourage you: STARE IT DOWN.

I know it’s scary. I know it can feel like flying a plane with no instruments. But I also know that  YOU and only you can stare down the giants that threaten to crush your particular dream.

TAKE A STEP…

Maybe today’s the day to…

  • Face that nagging fear?
  • Seek out the support you’ve been missing?
  • Challenge a lie that has you paralyzed?
  • Ask God to give you fresh perspective?

There is only one YOU in all of history – and God is EAGER to overcome the obstacles and bless the world through your life!

So the question remains…

“What are you waiting for?”

Great questions to ponder for sure! Time to find out if it is me or the Lord I am waiting on. Thank you Kim!

Fatima, I love your comment: “Time to find out if it is me or the Lord I am waiting on.” Great insight!

I am my own worst roadblock. Fear of failure. Fear of not finishing (which happens too much). I know I need to “let go and let God”, as my grandfather always preached. It’s so much harder than you ever think it will be to let go!

    I love Fatima’s quote too.

Jenn, we all are our own worst roadblock at times – so you’re in good company! I recently had a failure that threatened to keep me from moving forward until I realized: failure isn’t fatal. Winners fail all the time. They just keep choosing to get back up – and gain strength and courage in the process. Praying for you today as you let God help you “let go.” :))

What a blessing! So much truth and I am left with one thought. Why wait to act on this nudge from the Holy Spirit? Do I want to be healed?”Pick up your mat and …walk” Thank you for the nudge….the confirmation!

Yes I agree Margie. The best way is to become a “self-nudger” out of deep confidence in God’s love and wisdom. Hopefully we’re living our way toward that more and more each day!
