You may be asking…

What’s The Growing Edge?

Well, for me it’s learning to CONNECT with God and GROW in Christ, in the midst of whatever situation I happen to find myself in…where timeless truth meets everyday experience. It’s learning to…

  • GET TO KNOW GOD just for the sake of knowing Him
  • CONNECT WITH HIM when I feel great (and especially) when I feel lousy
  • KEEP ALERT for what God’s highlighting in my life at any given moment
  • PICK MYSELF UP WHEN I FALL (cuz even that is a halting step forward)
  • EMBRACE GROWTH in the ordinary “teachable moments” of life  (not just the ones that feel like a Hallmark movie)

Do I have this kind of growth perfectly wired? Not even close! I still  have those days when the only “growing edge” I can find is the one I feel like jumping off of…when I’ve lost sight of God and growth and just about everything else but my current crisis. I think we all have those moments from time to time.

Nonetheless, as I’ve committed to taking these “steps of faith” forward (even though a bad day still hits now and then), I’ve begun to notice an encouraging trend:  a daily, incremental, GOD-CONNECTED kind of growth that gives me “strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow.” Even when everything doesn’t go perfectly (as it often doesn’t)…and even when I don’t do everything perfectly (which I often don’t).

I also feel increasingly drawn to CONNECT with others who are on a similar journey…or would like to be. So if that’s you, please tune in as I do my best to embrace the messy, unpredictable, down-to-earth “dailyness” of life — and then blog about what I’m learning (or starting to learn) in the process. I hope you’ll find it thought-provoking and encouraging… and that together, with God’s help, we’ll each find THE GROWING EDGE!

Blessings, Kim
